Weekly Thoughts of a GM #1

Posted on: September 21, 2010

After an absolutely wild weekend (Surf City Car show, Eric Burdon and the Animals, and the 3rd Annual Iris Pride Festival), our attentions turn for a bit to the convention season. This week we welcome in a multitude of Tour Groups, Reunions, and even a few Weddings.

We never rest here at Surftides, but you certainly can!

Midweek in September is the perfect time to slip away to the coast for a few nights of relaxation.

On the Calendar for the next week in Lincoln City is the Annual Celebration Of Honor.

Lincoln City honors veterans of the Armed Forces, active duty personnel and their families.

A few of the events planned include a Military Memorabilia Display, 5k run for Honor, 4 Troops Concert, and the ultra impressive Field of 1,000 Flags.

Many of the events are occurring right down the street from Surftides Lincoln City on the grounds of the Chinook Winds Casino.

Lots going on – and you will need to be sure to stay energized with a few good meals.

Chef Eric McElroy has launched Mists’ new menu, and the feedback has been tremendously positive.

“Comfort food inspired by the Sea” is what our menu is all about, and we think you’ll love what you find.

On a personal note – I honestly can’t get enough of the Creole BBQ Prawns in Tabasco Butter, followed by a plate of our super popular Lobster Mac N Cheese.

More to come, but in closing I would like to thank the Lincoln City Visitors Bureau (and Nichole LeSage) for another successful Iris Pride Festival. We were very pleased to have had the opportunity to host the Clam Bake, After Iris Pride Drag Show, and the Flamingo Bingo.

(The Rose City Swing Band of Portland was so adored that we are looking into bringing them back on New Year’s Eve for a midwinter celebration!)

All for now, but as always, Meet me at Surftides Lincoln City!
